The Chihuahua is the smallest dog in the world. They have been called mini, teacup, deer faced and toy dogs. They are a popular dog right now; they are bred in farms all around the world. They do have their problems in health and in attitude. They can be mean and nasty but at the same time they are protective and loyal.
Chihuahua’s were thought to be believed were descendants of a little larger of a breed of dog that had ties to Aztec royalty back in the civilization called Techichi. But there were never any remains for the dogs for archaeologists to find so the belief is now that the Chihuahua came over to Mexico by Spanish settlers many years ago.
So now when people are asked where the Chihuahua come from, the answer is Mexico by settlers. Some came by trade routes from Spain to China and then from China to Mexico. Depending the trade routes at the time. But there is also a theory that the dogs came from Egypt because they are depicted in the Hieroglyphics. We may never know exactly where the dog came from or from what they evolved from and why they are so small. Everyone and every culture has a different theory.
